pregnant? new parent? struggling? need help?
There are dozens of locations in metro Detroit that offer pregnancy and adoption services. The state of Michigan also provides assistance. Use our brochure below to find help near you. Additional online resources are also available on Right to Life of Michigan's website.
Whether you continue with or end your pregnancy has never been a choice of political parties or action groups. It is—and has always been—a choice of the pregnant. If you are pregnant and want help, call or text 1-800-712-HELP. © Right to Life of Michigan Educational Fund | rtl.org
A patient considering an abortion must be offered, on paper or online, all of the following information at least 24-hours prior to an abortion:
If an ultrasound was performed on the patient prior to the abortion, the medical professional performing the ultrasound must ask the patient if she would like to view the live ultrasound image of her baby, and if she would like to take a printed copy of the image with her.
It’s against Michigan law to coerce a woman into having an abortion. The facility staff are required to ask women if they are being forced or pressured to have an abortion against their will. If a woman is being coerced, staff must give them a referral to law enforcement or a domestic violence support agency.
Minors must obtain consent of a parent or a judicial bypass prior to obtaining an abortion.
BEWARE: Michigan laws requiring abortion clinics to be licensed or inspected were repealed. There is no longer a requirement for the humane disposal of fetal remains. No abortion statistics or complications need to be reported. If someone is forced to abort against her will, was physically harmed in a clinic, or treated in an unclean facility, she or someone on her behalf can file a complaint.
Under Michigan law, newborns under 72 hours old can be confidentially surrendered to police stations, fire stations, hospitals or by calling 911.
